Wet but still smiling

Despite the weather, today saw the Scouts doing activities in the mess tent before lunch. We cooked centrally and all were kept out of the rain. The weather improved during the day.

We then went for a swim at Trout Beck Bridge near Windermere which gave the scouts a chance to catch a shower (other than that from the sky)

Tomorrow we will be setting off on our overnight hike during the late morning which will encompass walking up The Old Man of Coniston and returning on Thursday to the campsite.

Internet access can be a bit dodgy on the mountain, so don’t be alarmed if there isn’t a post tomorrow. The Scouts have now all gone to bed and the leaders are preparing the route for tomorrow.
